Peer-to-Peer Health Care Funding

How CrowdHealth Works

CrowdHealth is not an insurance company, but a platform & community that empowers you with a crowdfunding tool and a wealth of resources to efficiently manage your health care costs.

A Refreshingly Straight Forward, Decentralized Process

Step 1

Subscribe for $55/Month

Join the CrowdHealth community with a $55 monthly subscription. This fee provides you access to a suite of health care tools and a dedicated team of Personal Care Advocates, ready to guide you through health care decisions and bill negotiations.

Step 2

Help Other Members

Every month, you'll assist another member with their health event based on age or family size. Our platform effortlessly distributes costs among the crowd, making it easy to support others:

  • AGES 0-54: Up to $140/month

  • AGES 55-64: Up to $280/month

  • FAMILIES OF 4+: Up to $420/month.

Step 3

Receive Support from the Crowd

When facing health care expenses from injury, illness, pregnancy, or other health events, the CrowdHealth community steps in. Members contribute to cover your costs, and our platform handles the transfers. Use this support for any medical expenses.

Examples of How Big Bills Get Paid

Navigating Major Health Issues

Imagine a $500,000 hospital bill from an emergency open heart surgery. The bill first gets negotiated down to a reasonable fair market rate, approximately $150,000, and then gets submitted to the Crowd. 1,111 members give $140 each to meet the need of this medical bill.

Managing Accidents

When Brian breaks his arm mountain biking and faces $5,000 worth of medical bills from the ER, follow up care, and physical therapy, he knows he’s going to pay for the first $500 of care and then he can ask the Crowd for help with the rest. The remaining $4,500 gets crowdfunded by the Crowd, and sent directly to Brian who uses the funds to pay his medical bills.

Planning for Scheduled Procedures

For a planned knee replacement, CrowdHealth can help you shop for a high quality, fairly priced provider. Knee Replacement surgery on the free market costs approximately $20,000. This amount, distributed among 140 members, can be crowdfunded prior to the surgery so you have the funds you need to pay at the time of service.

Navigating Prenatal Care & Childbirth

Lisa and Michael are expecting their first child and just had their very first prenatal visit. While at the visit, their doctor gives them information on their cash-pay Global Fee for all prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care totalling $6000. When Lisa calls to register with the hospital, she is given a Good Faith Estimate for her delivery totaling another $6,000.  Additional blood work and imaging adds another $1,500 to the total, bringing their maternity costs to $13,500. Lisa and Michael know they will be paying the first $3,000 for their Maternity Member Commitment and use the $10,500 they receive from the Crowd to pay the remaining balances.

Case Study:
Member from Dallas, TX

Step 1: Facing Health Expenses

A CrowdHealth member from Dallas, TX was diagnosed with cervical cancer and needed a hysterectomy.

Step 2: Negotiating Costs

The local hospital quoted $48,000 for the procedure. CrowdHealth negotiated the hospital quote down to $9,190.

Step 3: Crowdfunding the Expense

142 members were asked to fund the negotiated expense, with an average crowdfunding cost of $64.71 per member. The contributions were collected and used to cover the member's medical bill.

Better Healthcare without Insurance

The member from Dallas, TX received the necessary medical treatment without the burden of a large bill. The CrowdHealth community came together to support a fellow member, demonstrating the power of community-driven health support.

Fund Humans, Not Health Insurance Corporations

Each month, you'll have the opportunity to support another member of the community with their medical expenses. If you agree, money will be transferred from your bank account to the member who requires assistance. They will then use this money to handle their medical costs.

To ensure you have control over your spending, there are set limits based on age and family size:

  • For individuals aged 0-54, the maximum contribution is $140 per month.

  • For those aged 55-64, the maximum contribution is $280 per month.

  • For families of 4 or more, the maximum contribution is $420 per month.

Anastasia Allison

“My husband just left his job of 16 years to become a full-time artist and I am a full time entrepreneur and founder of a company called Kula Cloth. I was pretty disheartened looking at healthcare options when he was leaving his job - the 'best' option was around $700 per month (for both of us) and had a $19,000 deductible - it was pretty laughable, actually. found Crowd Health through a serendipitous series of events - and love this model!”

Pila Sunderland

"My wife is a physician, so we've gotten more familiar than we'd have preferred with the scam known as health insurance. We have several employees and our whole family on CrowdHealth now, and we have had a very good experience thus far."

Toshio Lewis

"CrowdHealth is an innovative alternative to the ever-increasing cost of traditional, bureaucratized health care. Immediately after joining we received personalized communications from a dedicated correspondent, and also were invited to have an orientation web-meeting to answer any of our questions. The company is always looking for improvements and how to forward their innovative model. I believe that we need to start creating and supporting parallel institutions like CrowdHealth to work outside of the traditional bureaucracies that are often deeply corrupt and dysfunctional."

Dr. Maryanna Barrett

“As a physician in practice for over a decade and owner of a private practice, I am immersed in the problems that we face in healthcare. Enter crowd health. I have signed up my family and employees. I have patients that are crowd health members.…. CrowdHealth is the most impactful solution to restoring the doctor patient relationship that I have seen.”

Brandon Wilson

“I woke up last week not feeling well. was a Sunday and I didn't want to go urgent care. I opened up my CrowdHealth app, pressed "Talk to a Doctor" and within 2 minutes and 22 seconds I had a prescription for medications at my local pharmacy which ended up costing me $6. Not only that, but I felt 100% better within 24 hours. What an incredible experience. Thanks CrowdHealth.”

Laurel Marr

“I was priced out of traditional insurance plans years ago. l tried out multiple different sharing plan options before joining CrowdHealth in January 2022. I have had one health event, and Maggie was very helpful, even going over and beyond the expected service of an advocate to make sure my needs were met. In addition to this service, once the team at CrowdHealth learned of a death in my immediate family, I was showered with love and support. Thank you Crowd Health!!”

Patty Haling

“In 2018, I made the decision tr start a functional medicine health coaching practice and was disheartened by cost of premiums for people in my age and tax bracket when shopping for health insurance on healthcare, gov. At the age of 62, Crowd Health has given me peace of mind that doesn't break the bank as I "wait for Medicare". I wish I had discovered this wonderful option sooner!”

Amy Farley

"My husband and I joined CrowdHealth as an alternative to having insurance and we have been nothing but amazed at our experience! Shortly after joining CrowdHealth, my husband ended up needing a procedure. They were with us every step of the way, helping to negotiate our emergency room and hospital bill and made arrangements for him to get the recommended procedure done at a high quality medical facility. They handled all the care coordination while saving the Crowd thousands of dollars! For us, this is what health care should be."

Jeff and Ally Davidson

“Ally and I love CrowdHealth. We love their team and have such confidence in their ability to deliver that we signed our family up for the service.”
